It seems that the Asus Zenfone three launch can happen a bit later than expected - company business executiveKraut Shen says the new generation are undraped in June.
They will target the mid-range market, but the average asking price can go up compared to previous generations. Asus expects the Zenfone 3 scoop to build up simple fraction of total shipments, the base Zenfone three and Zenfone 3 Deluxe can frame the opposite third.
The CEO noted AN vital shift in chipsets - ninetieth of Zenfone 3s are supercharged by a Qualcomm chipset and100% by MediaTek. Asus was one of the few that used Intel chipsets, but the chip large is rethinking its mobile strategy right currently.
Asus remains committed to the $250-$300 segment, but can go into the $300+ section in China to contend with Huawei and Oppo. The company saw a 40% growth in smartphone revenue for the primary quarter (with robust sales in geographical region, Brazil, Russia and Europe). However, Q2 sales are expected to be flat whereas the portfolio shifts from recent models to new.
